THE WAY'S WAY

Wellness can only be established and maintained if all the pieces of the wellness puzzle are carefully tended.

At The WAY Center, we have established an evidence-based approach to help restore adolescents to a place of wellness. The process is multi-faceted and involves several medical disciplines.

STEP 1: INITIAL MENTAL HEALTH CONSULTATION

When an adolescent is experiencing debilitating anxiety, excruciating depression, sudden suicidality, or is in the throes of addiction, they are in a state of crisis, and that crisis NEEDS to be managed, IMMEDIATELY.

We commit to supporting teens through crisis. Not only do we help alleviate immediate suffering, we engage in a multi-faceted process to establish a long term plan to establish wellness.

The first step in the WAY treatment process starts with an initial visit with our board-certified pediatrician, specialty trained in adolescent mental health and addiction.

We require that, if possible, both parents AND their adolescent child are present for this consultation, and that parents set aside at least one hour for the first stage in this diagnostic process.

STEP 2: NUTRITION CONSULTATION

At the WAY Center, we believe that food is nature's medicine, and, oftentimes, long term wellness can be restored and / or established naturally.

Is an adolescent's mood, behavior, attention, or lack of energy explained by the foods they are eating? Or perhaps, to the foods they aren't eating?

Our board-certified pediatrician, specially trained in pediatric nutrition and wellness will conduct an interview, examination and customized blood work to gain an understanding of how an adolescent's nutrients are impacting their mood and ability to function optimally, and the role nutrition and supplementation can play in restoring them to a place of wellness.

STEP 3: THERAPY

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY & GROUP THERAPY

Therapy is a critical part of a teen's long term care plan. Behavioral therapy explores ways to help teens develop their brains and emotional muscles so that they can decrease their sensitivity and / or reactivity. We offer individual and group therapy, designed to help teens build the tools and resilience for long term wellness.
